The pets' abilities really transform their usefulness later on. Drakon is also an offensively geared sprite, with his abilities dealing direct damage in one way or another. It's also just plain fun to shoot! The defensive shield isn't super powerful, but it deals damage while reducing the damage taken, both useful! Lastly, the fire storm is a cool area of effect attack that does okay damage and provides fire status. Use it to melt Ice cubes, and hit switches or far away enemies. Maskeraith adds to your overall DPS by weakening enemies, making him a good offensive choice.ĭrakon's Fireball is more of a utility in my mind. Shadow cloak is good for positioning (if lackluster otherwise) and the Hexing Haze does an okay area of effect damage. Maskeraith's poison will weaken enemies, making them take 20% more damage, and nerfing their attack power by 50%. As a swordsman, you'll be taking a beating if you're not careful- Seraphynx can keep you and your buddies in better shape- he's mostly a defensive choice. Seraphynx's shield will protect you if you're running headlong into battle, and Heart Attack will leave more HP on the ground for you once you mop up the area. I personally chose Maskeraith- as poison is my favorite status and Maskeraith can sling it around from level 1.įor your consideration as a sword user, each pet does have complementary abilities: Wall of Text inbound! All the skills do have their uses, and can potentially complement any weapon and armor choice in one way or another. So deciding how you primarily like to play will have a strong impact on which sprite you're picking.Įach Pet really offers a unique play style in their own right, and none directly applies to any particular type of weapon user. Seraph is not going to save your ass solo the way the other two do, but it's very strong in parties. If you're getting a Sudaruska, the Seraph will save you from your own slowness, while if you're using Glacius the Drakon's damage is very impressive. But if you're going to wear more defensive armor and play a slower, tankier game, Drakon and Seraphynx are both very strong. I'm swords/bombs with Chaos - Seraph's temporary defense isn't going to save me from my own bad positioning, and Drakon's damage isn't as good as mine, or mine augmented by Maskeraith's. To some extent, it depends on your chosen equipment. Drakon has pretty good damage output, even at Firestorm, because it can use the elemental harness. The Maskeraith really helps your damage output and offers you some semi-reliable pinch defense - its biggest flaw is not having elemental damage. Seraph is very strong in parties, both for utility and support. Most everything is useful, in its own way.
